Here below is the article: Carrie Fisher, who died today at age 60, reprised her iconic role as Princess Leia in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and had already completed the next feature in the franchise, Star Wars: Episode VIII, a source close to the production told Deadline. It was expected the actress would return for Star Wars: Episode IX, but that won’t be shooting for about a year. In the meantime, the next Lucasfilm pic to go before cameras is the stand-alone Han Solo, which Fisher is not in. That one stars Alden Ehrenreich (Rules Don’t Apply) as the young Han Solo. For Episode VIII, Leia had a larger role, we’re told, and her daughter, Billie Lourd also is in that film as well as in Force Awakens. My thoughts about Carrie Fisher
My thoughts about Carrie Fisher With Carrie Fisher’s passing today, I wanted to share my thoughts on her career and contribution to the Star Wars series. Well it’s hard to know where to start, but I say that Carrie’s role as Princess Leia was special to me because it showed how this character has really inspired people and show that you will have the courage to stand for everything you believe in. I did love how great she was as the psychiatrist in the first Austin Powers movie. Her sense of humor was amazing. My favorite scenes showcased her sense of vulnerability when facing down Darth Vader himself, her shock when Alderan was destroyed by the Death Star, and of how well she expressed those inspiring words she said to Rey as she was about to leave to find Luke: “May the Force be with you.” RIP, Carrier...Star Wars Episode IX
