Star Wars actor Ian Liston has now passed away at age 68

Wesjanson.co.uk reports that today Star Wars actor Ian Liston has just passed away of prostate cancer at the age of 68 (tip of the hat to TheForce.net and Rebelscum.com).

If you recall Ian Liston played Wes Janson, who was Wedge Antilles’s gunner in the Empire Strikes Back. Liston was the one who shot the tow cable that tied up the legs of one of the AT-AT Imperial Walkers.

Doing double duty, he was also one of the drivers of the AT-AT Walkers in the same movie.  You can see him  steering the lead Walker to blast the main generator of the Rebel base.

Here are some photos of the great Ian Liston:

What I would like to say is “May the Force be you Ian Liston.”

Still wondering what Star Wars: The Force Awakensdirector J.J. Abrams’ thought process was while crafting the final battle at Starkiller Base or what he was thinking as he created the weird, wild alien landscape at Maz Kanata’s castle?

The director spills new details on the biggest blockbuster of all time in a revelatory audio commentary that’s part of a four-disc 3D collector’s edition of The Force Awakens out Nov. 15.

In addition to the theatrical cut on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD, the new edition contains all the bonus features from the earlier home release in April plus more deleted scenes, looks at sound and costume design, a tour of Star Wars weaponry and “The Scavenger and the Stormtrooper” conversation with stars Daisy Ridley and John Boyega.

Latimes.com reports that the San Diego Comic-Con has revealed a cool new Star Wars Character for Rouge One: Edrio Two Tubes!

Here’s the info on the character (from Facebook):

Edrio Two Tubes is a mercenary pilot who flies alongside his eggmate, Benthic. The two share the nickname derived from the breathing apparatus that allows their Tognath physiology to process oxygen atmospheres.

Edrio’s home world Yar Togna was conquered and occupied by the Empire, forcing him to flee as a refugee. Desiring to strike back at the Empire, Edrio and Benthic have allied with Saw Gerrera.

First look at the new Imperial Shoretroopers from Rogue One!

Rogue One is going to introduce us to some new kinds of Imperial Stormtroopers! Starwarsnewsnet.com is showing pictures from the Star Wars Celebration Europe Gallery of what these new Rogue One Imperial Shoretroopers look like.

Here are the photos:

From looking at these photos of the Shoretroopers, I say that the helmets, blasters, and armor are very different. For example, the armor is a tannish color and though there they are wearing armor on there shins, there’s no armor on their thighs (like the classic Stormtroopers do). Plus a piece of their armor on the upper part of their arms is red.

The blaster rifles that they are holding appear to be more like an advanced model. The helmet look like a mix between the helmets of the Imperial scouts and the helmets of the Deathtroopers.

I can’t wait to see Rogue One when it comes out!
