Rogue One Details Revealed!

In a recent article of Entertainment Weekly, new details of the new Star Wars movie Rogue One were revealed! Here’s a rundown:

1. Saw Gererra, a character from season 5 of the Star Wars the Clone Wars TV series, will make the transition from the animated word and into the real world. He will be played by Forest Whitaker in Rogue One!

2. Alan Tudyk, who played the pilot of the ship Serenity from the Firefly TV Series, is going to play the animated motions and voice for K-2S0 the security droid.

3. If you recall in episode IV A New Hope, Darth Vader said to Princess Leia that several transmissions were beamed to her ship by Rebel spies. Well, we are going to see who sent the transmissions and how they were made!

4. One of the main characters of Rogue One is Jyn. She is a bit similar to Ezra Bridger (from Star Wars Rebels). Jyn has no parents, is streetwise, steals what she needs to survive, making trouble for Imperial soldiers, running away to avoid getting caught by them, and living life all alone. Basically, the opposite of Ray.

5. Jyn joins the Rebellion and is assigned to go with the team of rebels to get the Death Star plans—she was told that if she helped accomplished the mission, her sentence (for some unknown crime) would be commuted. This does sound a bit similar to how the DC Comics’ Suicide Squad is hired to team up and help save the world.

6. There will be two new classes of Imperial Stormtroopers in the movie: Shoretroopers and Deathtroopers.

7. In a photo, a Deathtrooper was carrying something in his hand which appeared to be a Stormtrooper soldier toy. This is going to have special significance.

8. There will be a new type of Imperial Tie Fighters in the movie that are a kind of fang-like intercepters. This new type of Tie Fighter is called Tie Strikers.

9. From watching the teaser trailer, it show that the way the rebels where running across a beach toward the Imperial Walkers. This looked something like a scene out of World War II in the South Pacific!

Exclusive first look at deleted scenes from The Force Awakens

Entertainmentweekly.com releases a first look at photos of deleted scenes from The Force Awakens! Here’s a rundown!

1. Finn (or FN-2187) the rogue Stormtrooper. This image shows that early before the Stormtroopers rounded up the villagers, Finn (FN-2187) is shown standing there staring at someone in the shadows who shot his comrade (which explains the blood on his helmet).  This clearly shows that he’s beginning to see the true colors of what The First Order truly is and is having second thoughts.

2. Maz’s Basement deleted scene. This image of a deleted scene that was cut out of the movie shows that while the big battle was raging on the surface of Takodana, it seemed that Han, Chewie, Finn, and Maz had a battle of their own against a Stormtrooper squad in the basement of Maz’s castle. This does explain why Han and the others came out of a different exit in the castle.

3. Deleted scenes of the crash Millennium Falcon. In these two photos from a deleted scene, Kylo Ren brought a squad of Snowtroopers with him to check every part of the crashed Falcon. While the Snowtroopers inspect the ship Kylo Ren is sensing with the force that Han (his father) along with Finn and Chewie are on the Starkiller base. Plus the Falcon does seem to stir up some memories of Klyo Ren’s past life before he fell to the Dark Side.

4. First Order Snowspeeder chase scene. This deleted scene will involve a great Snowspeeder chase! Judging from this image it shows that Rey and Finn will hijack one of the Snowspeeders and try to find a way to escape the planet before it explodes. But one question remains how did those two manage to get from the Starkiller Base’s interior to the snowed forest where the lightsaber duel with Kylo Ren begins?

Star Wars Actor Drewe Henley (Red Leader) has just past away

Starwarsunderworld.com reported that Star Wars actor Drewe Henley, the man who played Red Leader the X-Wing pilot from A New Hope, has just passed away at the age of 75.

Here is Henley’s life story, in brief:

Henley had a fantastic career which began back in the early 1960’s. He was known for his roles in films such as Nothing But The Best(1964) and When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth(1970), as well as several Television series including The Doctors and Space: 1999. Henley would go on to have a small but pivotal role in “Star Wars”, as it was know at the time, portraying pilot Garven Dreis. Dreis, who was acknowledged on screen as Red Leader, flew alongside Luke Skywalker(Mark Hamill), Wedge Antilles(Denis Lawson) and Biggs Darklighter(Garrick Hagon) amidst the Battle Of Yavin and through the iconic trench of the first Death Star.

Shortly after appearing in Star Wars Henley was diagnosed with depression and he retired from acting, subsequently running a bed and breakfast with his wife.

Here are some photos of Henley as Red Leader:

What impressed me about Henley is his great acting skills. Though he’s gone I know that just like Dyson, he too will always be remembered in the hearts of many Star Wars fans.
