I was able to find and purchase a Sphero BB-8 toy today at Into The Wind, a toy store here in Boulder, CO.
Perhaps the store is able to get a supply since Sphero is a Boulder based company. Since the toy is not available on their website you can call them to order (303) 449-5906. There is a limit of two per person.

Starwars.com reports that Lucasfilm and Funko have unveiled a new subscription toy box called Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty.
The Force Awakens themed box will debut in November and contains two exclusive bobble heads from the upcoming Star Wars movie. The cost is $25 every other month; other boxes will have toys from other parts of the Star Wars universe.
The boxes have over $50 in merchandise value and include apparel, accessories, toys, and memorabilia.

Fortune.com reports that repair chain uBreakiFix has produced a teardown video of Sphero’s BB-8 toy (see below). Yep, ever since the launch of the new Sphero BB-8 toy last week, people have been wondering what makes this Sphero toy tick.

It’s very interesting that there is a gyroscope with two wheels is used to help balance the toy upright—along with a counterweight on the bottom the helps keep both the wheels in contact with the shell. This gives the toy traction (and is similar to other Sphero toys). What keeps BB-8’s head from falling off? A strong magnet that’s attached to a stem that extends upward from the base of the gyroscope.
Ready for the 2nd wave of the Star Wars Black Series action figures? Starwarsunderworld.com reports that these figures appeared at a Fan Expo in Canada.
These Black Series figures are scheduled to be released in October, but as usual, some are on eBay.

Slashfilm.com reports on the brand new voice changer masks of Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and a First Order Stormtrooper. Each is available on the Disney Store right now. Not only are these masks cool but you can even hear the voices of what the characters sound like.
