Disney reveals Han Solo anthology movie
Bdlive.co.za, has an interesting story today—Han Solo will get his own anthology movie! In an interview with Disney Africa senior vice-president Christine Service, Service revealed upcoming Disney Star Wars plans:
The Force Awakens was one of a series of films that would extend the Star Wars franchise. These could be split into two series — one that looked at the Skywalker family, and the other that explored events and characters beyond that saga. In this second “anthology series” two films were in planning, the first already being filmed and a second that would delve into Han Solo’s backstory.
Also in the news:
Disney had acquired rights to toy company Lego’s Star Wars series and would release animated films using the Lego characters.
Service said there was not much more to reveal about the Disney plans for Star Wars — which includes a new electronic game in that series. “It’s being drip-fed to all of us,” she said.
Woohoo! Animated Lego Star Wars series! The Lego movie was awesome, so it’s great that there will be a series featuring the Lego mini figures of the Star Wars characters!

Star Wars App Review
Here’s my review on the new Official Star Wars app!
Features:
- Themes: customize the app with any kind of interface you like
- News feed: news articles, blog posts, and app-exclusive content
- Videos: video clips of new toys, tv shows, etc…
- Force Trainer: a game used to hone a person’s skills in training against a remote
- Sound Board: great sound samples from the Star Wars movies
- GIFS: animated pictures of memorable scenes and characters from
- Selfie: takes photos of yourself in various costumes
- Augmented Reality: unlock 3D characters from Star Wars
What I like:
I like the themes feature because it’s very cool of how you can select your own theme interface for what you want your phone to look like.
I like the Force Trainer feature because it’s a game that allows you to wield a lightsaber and hone your skills against a training remote—just like the way Luke did in Star Wars episode 4: A New Hope. The object of the game is to receive five stars by blocking the lazer bolts that the remote shoots at you. Once you’ve received five stars, move on to the next level. If you don’t receive five stars you can try the level again to fix your mistakes. Of course, new levels are harder!
The Sound Board feature is great because it has voice quotes of the Star Wars characters and sound effect samples from each of the movies. Some of those effects include Vader’s breathing, R2-D2’s chipping sound, etc…
The selfie feature is fantastic because you can take photos of yourself in various iconic costumes. These various costumes include a Jedi, Princess Leia, Han Solo’s carbon freeze and so much more.
The News Feed provides news articles of updates on new toys and other things, blog posts to comment on, and some exclusive content of the app.
I liked the Gifs feature because these animated photos show some of the different scenes from each of the Star Wars movies, which is super cool. Plus you can even share these animated images with your friends and family.
The Augmented Reality camera feature is really something because when scanning the poster of the new Star Wars app the feature shows you a list of 3D characters that you click on and then appear exactly where you are sitting or standing.
What needs some work:
Since trying out the Force Trainer feature, I think that the game needs a little more polish. While playing it, I discovered that the handle of the saber looked like Anakin’s lightsaber but with a green blade instead of a blue one. A felony mistake in the Star Wars universe. I also think that the game should include a choose your own lightsaber handle and blade color before playing the game.
Overall, this is a great app! And best of all, it is free!

What will Disneyland build for the new Star Wars Movie?
Disneyland has recently agreed to spend 1 billion dollars to expand the park in Anaheim, CA.
The Orange County Register talked to two Disney experts to speculate on how Star Wars might factor in:
George Lucas had been vying for space at Disneyland for years. The word on the street is that Disney officials were waiting to see how “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” does at the box office before revealing future plans. A Star Wars Land is likely in the expansion because “it has a global audience, and the blueprint could easily be taken around the world.”
Because “heads in beds” (more people staying in Disney hotels) is more lucrative than park ticket sales, Disney could make a “Star Wars”-themed land in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Splitting Star Wars Land could “encourage people to stay longer and visit both parks in order to feel like they’ve seen the whole attraction.”

Star Wars Rebels news: Female Inquisitor has been unmasked!
Shocking news! Today Makingstarwars.net and Starwars7news.com report on the unmasking of one of the new Inquisitors who is going to appear in season 2 of the TV series Star Wars Rebels.
The trailer for the season 2 revealed that there will be two new Inquisitors (who were dispatched by Darth Vader to go after Asoka and the ghost crew). The official Star Wars Rebels magazine from the U.K. has revealed a pair of close-up portraits of the Inquisitors.
Before we go to the unmasking of the female Inquisitor lets start will the male Inquisitor:
Looking at the picture of this male Inquisitor, one thing is certain: the species is unknown, so this guy is a new type of alien that we have never seen before. When this Inquisitor appeared in the trailer for season 2, he looked similar to a Weequay (Hondo Ohnaka’s species), except the teal skin color and lack of wrinkles on his face suggests he isn’t a Weequay at all. One note: the lightsaber that he carries is very similar to the saber that the first Inquisitor used during the first season of Star Wars Rebels.
Now it’s time to move on to the female Inquisitor and see who she really is without the mask. If all of you fans out there think you know who this Inquisitor is, well I am afraid you are wrong!

Some online speculation theorizes that the new Inquisitor is really Luminara’s apprentice and Asoka’s friend Barris Offee, it turns out that’s wrong. I was almost convinced that it was Barriss because later episodes of “Star Wars the Clone Wars” show Barriss had became disillusioned with both the Republic and the Jedi Order—she bombed the Jedi Temple and set up Ahsoka to take the fall in a murder that she committed. After Anakin found out the truth of Barriss’ involvement and revealed her plan, she was put in prison. Plus that episode also revealed why Ahsoka left the Jedi Order, not only because of Barriss’ betrayal, but also for a number of other reasons.
From looking at the picture of the female Inquisitor above, I can say for certain that this is not Barriss, although there some facial similarities.

As you can see from the comparison of these photos, it confirms that the female Inquisitor’s face doesn’t have Barriss’s facial markings across her nose and cheeks. Plus the color of her eyes and lack of facial markings across the face suggests that she’s not Barriss at all. The color of her eyes do suggest that when using the Dark Side, the irises of the eyes change color which has been done the same way with Palpatine and Anakin (Vader).

Real life Mandalorian Land Speeder!
On Starwars.com, there’s an interesting story about one Star Wars fan who has made a fully operational Mandalorian Land Speeder—from concept to reality!

This is an interesting story about this speeder because it tells about how the project of making this Star Wars vehicle started out by finding some reference data on screen shot images of different speeder models plus Lego versions.
The builders use a 1987 golf cart and, with the help of an electrical engineer, take it apart and then modify it into the land speeder chassis.
