10 Star Wars characters who should have films of their own

As a response to the news that Han Solo is getting an origin story spin-off of his own, Liam Gaughan, a special contributor to the Dallas Morning News’ Guide Love, suggests a list of the top 10 Star Wars characters who should have spin-offs of their own. Find the entire article here.

Let’s see if you agree with Liam on his thoughts:

1. Qui-Gon Jinn (Obi-Wan’s master):

Qui-Gon Jinn

Where did this guy come from? What was it like to train under Count Dooku? Would it be cool to find out more about his early years?

2. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Qui-Gon’s apprentice):

I’ve read some of the preteen books on Obi-Wan as Qui-Gon’s apprentice. Some of those stories would be great incorporated into an origin story of Obi-Wan. And you’d get Qui-Gon too, so two for the price of one.

3. Master Yoda:

Here’s a guy we know nothing about. Where’s he from, what species is he, why does he live so long?

Will Daniel Crag be a Stormtrooper?

Will Daniel Crag be a Stormtrooper?

Will Daniel Crag be a Stormtrooper?

Recently on StarWars7News.com, there was a rumor questioning whether or not Daniel Crag (who played British spy James Bond) will be a Stormtrooper in The Force Awakens.

Daniel Craig

The general thinking was this isn’t true, because it would overlap his schedule between his latest Bond movie and The Force Awakens. But a later statement from actor Simon Pegg (who is in the Star Wars movie) made it more complicated.

During a recent interview, Simon Pegg revealed that Daniel Craig will be a Stormtrooper in The Force Awakens, but later clarified that he was only speculating based on the rumors about Craig (source: http://www.starwars7news.com/2015/05/rumor-daniel-craig-to-cameo-as-a-stormtrooper-in-star-wars-the-force-awakens.html).

Craig was asked about this in an interview with  EntertainmentWeekly:

The James Bond star made clear he finds the idea of making a cameo in the sci-if blockbuster preposterous. “Why would I ever bother doing something like that?” Craig tells EW. “F—ing hell! Pffft. Play an extra in another movie?”

Craig vigorously denies ever putting on the galactic empire’s notorious white helmet. “Talk to Simon Pegg. He obviously knows way more than I do,” says Craig. “He’s just jealous because he’s not in Star Wars. He’s got some issue with J.J. I don’t know what the f— it is. You need to talk to Simon about it.”

Interesting that Craig says he and Pegg aren’t in the movie . . .  but we know Pegg is!

Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow is rumored to direct Star Wars: Episode IX

Recently on a website called SlashFilm.com, reported that (according to Umberto Gonzales from HeroicHollywood.com) Colin Trevorrow (director of Jurassic World) is rumored to be the director for Star Wars: Episode 9.

Here is the story from SlashFilm.com:

Our friend Umberto Gonzalez at Heroic Hollywood claims to have the scoop. I had been told by others that Lucasfilm was planning to announce an Episode IX director at the Comic Con panel, but could never get a good enough confirmation. Lucasfilm held the tech run-through of their panel in Hall H just a couple hours ago, so its possible that the information could have leaked out of that.

I don’t have a second source able to confirm this report at this time, but Umberto seems pretty confident — confident enough to report it a mere 16 hours away from the scheduled presentation where it could easily and quickly be debunked.

Frame-by-frame: Things You Might Have Missed in the Behind-The-Scenes Video of The Force Awakens

Like the Zapruder film, Stars Wars are coming through frames of the behind-the-scences video of the Force Awakens released at Comic Con last week. And there are some interesting reveals and confirmation of past rumors.

My favorite frames are here:

1. The first frame reveals that Simon Pegg (who was in Mission Impossible, Star Trek and other movies) is going to play a role in the movie which makes this exciting for me! In the frame it’s hinted that Simon is playing a role as an alien who’s hand is ripped off during a Cantina sequence:

2. The second frame reveals an exclusive look at a pink Astromech droid that will appear in The Force Awakens. From the looks of this frame, this pink droid is the same R2-KT who served in the Clone Wars and the Empire. And now it’s hinted that she will now be apart of the Rebellion:

3. Although this final frame is a bit blurry it does reveal that C-3PO has a red plated arm which I blogged about earlier:
