Star Wars Costume Spotlight: Han Solo The Smuggler
Today for this next Star Wars fan favorite will be the costume of the great smuggler turned Rebellion general (plus Chewie’s friend and partner) — Han Solo himself!
The Museum display notes that Han Solo is a traditional archetypal hero like the sheriff from an old fashioned western. This informs how the costume designers created his iconic look.

The second close-up is of Han’s blaster, which looks well used (note the paint on it is chipped off):

Note that the collar of the costume is a very simple one. The concept art sketch of the collar had a huge Peter Pan shawl-type collar which Harrison Ford rejected because it was too loose.
